🌿 Bloom Where You're Becoming 🌿
"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."
— Anaïs Nin
Dear beautiful soul,
There is something about August that has always felt like a quiet new beginning.
Summer isn't quite over, but you can feel the season beginning to shift. Children are picking out backpacks and wondering who will be in their class. Parents are settling back into rhythms after months of late nights and full calendars. Gardens that were once tiny seedlings are suddenly overflowing with tomatoes, herbs, peppers, and flowers ready to be harvested. Mason jars begin filling with dried herbs, vegetables are canned for the months ahead, and nature gently reminds us that every season has its purpose.
Everything is in full bloom.
And yet...
Even in all of that abundance, nature is already preparing for what's next.
I love that reminder because blooming isn't the end of the journey.
It's simply another beautiful part of becoming.
🤍
Last month, we reflected on nourishing what is already growing, and I didn't realize at the time just how deeply I would be invited to live those words.
Only a few weeks later, I received unexpected news that the studio where PLY Healing had been offering yoga classes would no longer be continuing those offerings.
I'll be honest...
It hurt.
I had poured my heart into creating that space. I imagined our community continuing to grow there, and for a moment, I found myself wondering what this meant for PLY Healing.
But healing has taught me something over the years.
It doesn't mean we skip over disappointment.
It simply means we don't build a home there.
As the dust settled, I noticed something beginning to shift within me.
Instead of asking, "Why is this happening?"
I found myself asking,
"Where is this trying to lead me?"
That one question changed everything.
Because the truth is...
PLY Healing has never been about a building.
It has never been about a single yoga class or one location.
It has always been about creating spaces where people feel safe enough to exhale... safe enough to soften... safe enough to remember they don't have to navigate life—or healing—alone.
That purpose didn't disappear because one door closed.
If anything...
It became even clearer.
🌱
I've found myself thinking back to our Buck Moon Sister Circle last month.
We spent the evening reflecting on becoming—on how some of the most meaningful growth happens quietly beneath the surface, long before anyone else can see it. We talked about trusting what is unseen, honoring what is still taking shape, and believing that not everything beautiful is ready to bloom the moment it's planted.
Maybe that's why this season feels so familiar.
There is something growing beneath the surface of PLY Healing.
A dream I've carried quietly in my heart for a long time has started asking for my attention again. It's still tender. Still unfolding. Still becoming. And for now, that feels exactly right.
Some dreams need a little time beneath the soil before they're ready to break through the surface. I'm learning that not every seed needs to be dug up to prove it's growing.
Sometimes faith looks like watering the soil anyway.
🌿
The garden has been reminding me of that every single morning.
Just a month ago, I was wandering outside admiring what was beginning to grow.
Now, I'm harvesting tomatoes by the basket, clipping herbs for fresh infusions, filling mason jars with holy basil, peppermint, rosemary, and lavender, and hanging bundles to dry so they'll continue nourishing our family long after summer has passed.
There is something deeply grounding about preparing for the future without rushing the present.
Nature never forces herself into the next season.
She simply responds to what this season is asking of her.
I wonder what would happen if we did the same. What if we trusted that not every ending is a loss? What if some endings are simply making room for something we've been praying for, even if we don't recognize it yet?
As you move through August, my hope is that you find little moments to pause and notice what is flourishing around you.
Celebrate what is blooming.
Harvest what you've worked hard to grow.
Remain open to the unexpected.
And trust that even if you can't yet see the whole path...
The next step is enough.
